How do you run one automation across two Instagram accounts?

2 जवाब2 बार देखा

By default an automation runs on every connected account of that channel type, so with two Instagram accounts connected it already answers both. If you want it scoped to one, choose the account on the trigger.

This is the setting to know about if you run more than one brand, because the default is correct for most people and silently wrong for you. A welcome message written for brand A will answer brand B's customers too, in brand A's voice, until someone notices.

How it behaves:

  • No account selected: the automation runs on all accounts of that type. This

is the default and it is what a single-account workspace wants.

  • One or more accounts selected: the automation only runs for messages that

arrived on those accounts.

  • The selector only appears when you actually have two or more accounts of that

type connected, because with one account the choice is noise.

Two practical notes. If you disconnect an account that an automation was scoped to, that automation has no usable account left and gets paused rather than failing silently. And if you are duplicating a flow per brand, scope each copy explicitly rather than relying on one being published and the other not: published state is easy to change by accident, an account scope is not.

For agencies running clients in separate workspaces, this does not apply. Workspaces are already isolated.

We had exactly the brand A voice answering brand B problem.

Good that the selector hides with one account, less to misconfigure. ---
