Add a delay, then a condition that ends the run if they replied or already carry the tag you set when they did.
The build is short:
- After your link message, add a tag like awaiting-reply.
- Delay. Something between two and twenty four hours works; the exact number matters less than being inside the window.
- Condition: if the contact replied or has the converted tag, end the run.
- Otherwise send one nudge. One.
Where this goes wrong is the window rather than the logic. The 24 hour messaging window runs from their last message, not from yours. If they commented at nine in the morning and never wrote again, your nudge at nine the next morning is already outside it and the send fails. A delay of two to six hours keeps you comfortably inside and is also when people are still thinking about it.
Two design notes. Make the nudge say something new. "Just checking in" is the message people mute you for; "the guide is still here, and it covers X" gives them a reason to come back. And stop at one. A second nudge converts almost nobody and it is where reports start.
If the person is genuinely worth reaching next week, get consent for email or SMS inside the first conversation instead of trying to stretch the DM window.
